Assistant Coach Charlotte

charlotte2.png

Charlotte is no stranger to judo and was very keen to follow in her dads (Mitch) footsteps, that at the age of 4 she hit the mats and has never look back.

Charlotte has always been a very competitive fighter, representing Southfields Judo Kan at many local and national competitions.

Her dedication to the sport has seen her compete at a high level, including competing in an international competition in Holland.

As well as being ranked 13 in her weight category in the BJA. Charlotte competes within 2 associations and dreams to be an Olympian!

She trains very hard on Tuesdays and Saturdays and attends national training camps too.

Charlotte achieved her junior black belt at the age of 15 and now at the age of 17 has achieved her BJC Brown belt at this May's (2023) Cromer Judo Course.

Charlotte is never deterred as a competitive athlete but has also turned her hand to other aspects of judo by recently gaining her Referee qualification. This means she can referee at national and local events, increasing her experience.

As well as her competitive side, Charlotte helps out at the club as an assistant coach, helping judokas of all ages, from primaries to seniors. She helps with their learning and offers a different skill set to help them gain the best outcome for themselves.

Charlotte enjoys helping others and likes to teach them new techniques from her competitive background. Charlotte also helps a lot with younger individuals with additional needs. Like everyone at this club she has a warm heart and nurturing side which helps them feel safe and secure that they run to her and get excited when they see her.

She is a true asset to Southfields and we are blessed to call her an assistant coach.
